Electric globe valve consists of a globe-valve body and linear-stroke electric actuator. It converts electrical signals into linear stem movement to achieve remote on-off or modulating control for process pipelines, electric globe valve widely used in automated industrial systems. Two main versions are available: on-off type for full-open / full-close service, and modulating type for continuous flow, pressure, temperature or level regulation via 4-20 mA / 1-5 VDC analog input signalCOVNA.

 

Structure & Working Principle

 

The electric actuator drives the valve stem and plug to perform linear travel.

  • For on-off service: plug seats tightly against seat for shut-off or lifts fully open for full flow.
  • For modulating service: plug stays at intermediate positions to throttle fluid flow according to control signal.
  • Manual override handwheel is commonly equipped for emergency local operation upon power loss.
  • Optional bellows-seal bonnet variant eliminates stem packing leakage for toxic, volatile or VOC-critical services.
  • Seat faces are hard-faced with Stellite alloy for high-pressure / high-temperature wear-resistance. Soft-seat options (PTFE / graphite) are available for tight shut-off requirements.

Limitations

 

1.Longer actuation time compared with pneumatic actuated valves.

2.Not suitable for heavy particle-laden media which may erode plug-seat sealing pairs.

3.Bellows-seal version has finite fatigue cycle life for frequent cycling service.
