Structural Feature Closed bonnet with packed-gland lever assembly; manual lever for on-site functional test; adjustable nozzle ring for blow-down tuning; Stellite hard-alloy overlay sealing face; outlet flange larger than inlet flange for high-capacity discharge. Closed bonnet prevents toxic & volatile medium leakage to atmosphere, suitable for closed vent piping connection.
Suitable Media Steam, compressed air, oil, hydrocarbon, non-cryogenic volatile gas-liquid medium. Widely applied for pressure vessels, separators, storage tanks and process piping in petrochemical, refinery and general-industrial plant.

 

Features

1.Closed-Bonnet Packed-Gland Lever Structure

A44C adopts fully-closed bonnet with packing-gland sealing for lever stem. Compare with A48SC open-bonnet design, it prevents medium escaping through bonnet housing, allows connecting closed discharge piping for toxic, volatile, harmful media. External packed lever can perform manual lift test when system pressure reaches 75% of set-pressure, verify valve free-movement without dismantling insulation or removing bonnet parts.

2.Full-lift High-Capacity Discharge Performance

Built-in back-blow disc assembly, full-lift opening ≥1/4 nozzle diameter. Adjustable nozzle ring precisely modulates blow-down value to satisfy different project requirement. Discharge capacity fully complies with API-520 calculation formula. Large-size outlet flange ensures rapid mass-flow relief upon over-pressure event.

3.Stellite Hard-Alloy Overlay Sealing Pair

Nozzle and disc seating surface hard-faced with Stellite cobalt-base alloy. Excellent anti-erosion and wear-resistant property under cyclic relief operation. Seat tightness meets API-527 leakage acceptance criteria, reduces seat-blow-by risk for hydrocarbon and oil-gas process service, extends maintenance interval.

4.Conventional Spring-Loaded Mechanical Design

Pure spring-driven conventional safety valve, no external power source. Set-pressure can be precisely adjusted on-site. Automatic opening for over-pressure relief; tight re-seating when pressure drops to blow-down range. Simple robust construction for heavy-duty continuous-process plants. Note: performance will be affected by variable superimposed back-pressure, for fluctuating back-pressure working condition, select bellows-type WA44C instead.

5.Multiple Material Options For Versatile Service

WCB carbon steel for general steam & hydrocarbon; CF8/CF8M stainless steel trim for corrosive fluid. NACE-MR0175 wetted components can be specially ordered for sour-H₂S environment. Flange dimensions strictly follow ASME B16.5 pound-grade for overseas EPC & petrochemical projects.

Working Principle & Application Notes

 

PSV oil and gas with packed-gland manual lever and closed bonnet. Under normal working pressure, spring force presses disc tightly against nozzle seat. When system pressure rises to set-pressure, medium thrust overcomes spring load, valve pops fully open for large-capacity relief. When system pressure falls to reset blow-down value, spring pushes disc back to seating position and reseats tightly. As conventional non-bellows structure, variable back-pressure will shift set-pressure and re-seating performance; WA44C bellows-balanced version is recommended when back-pressure fluctuates significantly. Not qualified for sour-H₂S service without NACE-specified material upgrade.Psv oil and gas provide set-pressure, operating temperature, medium property and relief capacity for proper sizing before order.
